Canvas / Print a copy of a quiz

Objective

  • To provide instruction on printing a hard copy of a quiz from Canvas

Resolution

Option 1

  1. Download the Canvas Quiz Printer 0.2.0 extension to Chrome
    • Note: You may want to add it to the extension bar
  2. Open your Canvas quiz in Preview mode
  3. Locate the Canvas Quiz Printer extension in the extension bar or in More Tools under the Options menu
  4. Click the Canvas Quiz Printer extension and the application will provide a copy of the quiz
    • Note: There are two areas in the copy that take up space on the first page
      • The quiz instruction area will have as much space as the Rich Content Editor space in Canvas and cannot be adjusted unless you download and edit as a PDF
      • The font selection area where you can adjust the font size and style will disappear when you print
  5. Once the printer version is rendered, either print to a printer or print to PDF
  6. Verify that the print reflects the quiz as expected - known issues with this app are multiple copies of the same question on the printed version and/or not all questions are on the print version

 

Option 2

  • Use the Canvas Guides below:
    • Enable New Quizzes by going to Settings > Feature Options > locate New Quizzes and click the red x on the right. Select Enable.
    • Migrate the quiz from Classic Quizzes to New Quizzes
    • Create the print file
