Canvas / Assistance needed to add a course to the dashboard

Objective

• To obtain assistance in viewing a course from a previous term when:
  • You cannot see a closed Canvas course in the dashboard

User

• Canvas Instructor

Environment

• 10185: Canvas

Cause

• Courses can be added to the dashboard only for active terms

Resolution 

• It is not recommended that courses dates be changed to add courses to the dashboard; the course will then be open to students
• Courses from past enrollment terms can be viewed by going to Courses then All Courses
  • Navigate to the Past Enrollment section to find the course
     
• If it is necessary to gain access to a course from a previous term, contact IT Help by calling 513-529-7900 or by initiating a live chat session at MiamiOH.edu/ITChat
• Note that not all requests to reopen a course will be granted

• Miami Online offers Canvas training
  • Office hours and support will be offered throughout each term. Look for an announcement in Canvas and an email to all faculty.
